They held this name until 1947 when they moved to Minneapolis and took the Lakers name. After 13 years, the team moved to Los Angeles in 1960 and has been there ever since.
The Lakers play their home games at the Staples Center. This venue opened in 1999, and is one of the most modern in the NBA. Although the Lakers share this venue with the Clippers, fans do not seem to mind. They only thing that they care about is making as much noise as possible when their team takes the floor.
The Lakers are one of the most successful NBA franchises of all time. This is evident by the 14 NBA championships that they have won; most recently in 2002. Additionally, they have won their conference an amazing 28 times and their division 26 times. As you can see, there is no denying the success of the Lakers.
