The Portland Trail Blazers are a professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. They play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). They are the only major league franchise in the state of Oregon.

The Trail Blazers entered the NBA in 1970 as an expansion team; and have played in Portland for the entire time. In 1977 they won their only NBA Championship. The team had been a regular fixture in the NBA Playoffs until as recently as 2003. The team was sold to Paul Allen in 1988; in 1990 and 1992 the Blazers advanced to the NBA Finals but were defeated both times; first by the Detroit Pistons and then by the Chicago Bulls.

The current management and team players have been re-connecting with the community at large. All of the players associated with the "Jail Blazers" years are gone, and a new crop of young players show promise.

The Charlotte Bobcats compete in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. The Bobcats were founded in 2004, making them the newest team in the NBA. But with that being said, they have made some major strides in such a short period of time. This has helped to gain the interest of the people of Charlotte, and also draw in fans from other parts of the country as well.

The Bobcats play their home games at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. This venue opened in 2005, and is one of the most modern in the entire league. Both players and fans love what this new arena has to offer. It is safe to say that this is going to help the Bobcats to take their success to the next level.

Since the Bobcats have only been around a few years, they have yet to make their mark as far as winning is concerned. But with an ownership group, including former NBA great Michael Jordan, the Bobcats winning days are right around the corner.

The Bobcats have not had a lot of time to sign great players. But even then, they have a solid group at this time. Some of the more popular Bobcats include Derek Anderson, Sean May, Emeka Okafor, Raymond Felton, and many more.

The Charlotte Bobcats franchise is on the up and up. Once they establish themselves a bit more they are sure to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
