New Jersey Nets Information:
The New Jersey Nets compete in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. Since being founded in 1967, the organization has been called several different names. From 1967 to 1968 the team was known as the New Jersey Americans. From 1968 to 1977 they were the New York Nets. And then in 1977 they changed to New Jersey, but kept the Nets name. But no matter what name the organization has gone by, they have always competed with a high level of success.
The Nets play their home games at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This venue opened in 1981, and is widely considered one of the most outdated arenas in the league. But with a capacity of over 20,000, the Nets always have a home court advantage no matter who is on the schedule.
The Nets have never won an NBA championship, but have had some success over the years. They won their division in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2006. This is in addition to conference titles in 2002 and 2003.
Some of the greatest players to compete for the Nets include Nate Archibald, Rick Barry, Julius Erving, Darryl Dawkins, and Drazen Petrovic among many others.
The New Jersey Nets have had a lot of success as of late. The organization is hoping to turn this success into an NBA championship sooner rather than later.
