Located in Sacramento, California, Arco Arena opened its doors in 1988. Up until then the best facility in the area was the "Original Arco Arena" and it is safe to say that this did not suit the needs of the many sports teams in the area, as well as the fans and spectators who were interested in visiting. For this reason, the $40 million Arco Arena was privately funded, and was ready to suit the needs of everybody by 1988.

There are several tenants that are sure to keep Arco Arena busy year in and year out. They include the Sacramento Kings of the NBA, and the Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA. Before this, both the Sacramento Attack and Sacramento Knights also used Arco Arena.

For basketball games at Arco Arena it is not uncommon to see a sell out. The arena can hold 17,317 fans for basketball events, and this is plenty enough to keep the place rocking until the home team comes away with a win.

But although sporting events are popular at Arco Arena, this is not all it is used for. In addition, concerts and other shows are also common place at Arco Arena. The four largest crowds in Arco Arena history came in 1995 when Christian Evangelist Billy Graham came to town. This just goes to show that Arco Arena can be used for much more than sporting events.

Fans from all over the country visit Arco Arena to catch a basketball game, or see their favorite performer in concert. Although the venue may not be as new as others, it does have a lot to offer. The modern features, convenient location, and fan friendly seating make it perfect for a number of different events.
