AT&T Center Information:
The AT&T Center is one of the newest arenas in the United States. Built in 2002, the AT&T Center is located in San Antonio, Texas and has done a lot for the city in a very short amount of time. The AT&T Center only cost $186 million, and was financed entirely by a local sales tax. This alone shows you just how much the people of San Antonio were clamoring for a new arena.
There are three professional sports franchises that call the AT&T Center home. They include the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA, the San Antonio Silver Stars of the WNBA, and the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL. For basketball games the AT&T Center can hold nearly 19,000 fans which make it extremely difficult for visiting teams to win. For hockey events, there is enough room for approximately 13,000 fans.
Since opening its doors the AT&T Center has seen many memorable moments. At the end of the 2002-2003 NBA season, the Spurs won the championship in front of a sold out AT&T Center crowd. Again in 2005 the Spurs worked their magic and clinched yet another NBA championship in front of their home town crowd. This alone is a testament of just how loud the AT&T Center can get during any sporting event.
In addition to sports being played at the AT&T Center, hundreds of concerts have also taken place inside. With modern amenities and plenty of room the AT&T Center is the perfect venue for any concert or show.
The AT&T Center has become a centerpiece of the city, and it is safe to say that things are going to stay this way for quite some time. Anybody who has the chance to watch an event at the AT&T Center should take advantage as soon as possible.
