The EnergySolutions Arena was built in 1990, and is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This arena was known as the Delta Center when it opened its doors in 1991, but in late 2006 it took the name EnergySolutions Arena. Although this venue may not be the newest in the country, it has a lot to offer in the way of modern features and amenities. Being that it is one of the top indoor arenas in the state, EnergySolutions Arena draws in thousands of fans for sporting events, shows, and concerts on a regular basis.
There are two primary tenants that keep EnergySolutions Arena busy throughout the year. They include the Utah Jazz of the NBA, and the Utah Blaze of the AFL. In the past the Utah Starzz of the WNBA also played their home games at EnergySolutions Arena.
For basketball games this arena can hold approximately 20,000 fans making it one of the larger venues among NBA teams. Seating capacity can increase to approximately 21,000 to accommodate the needs of some concerts.
Over the years many great events have taken place inside EnergySolutions Arena. The United States Figure Skating Championships took place at this arena in 1999, and during the 2002 Winter Olympics it hosted both the short track speed skating and figure skating competitions. Each year, several top musical acts also visit the EnergySolutions Arena.
All in all the people of Salt Lake City love the EnergySolutions Arena. Not only is it a site to see from the outside, but the interior is state of the art as well.
