The US Airways Center is located in Phoenix, Arizona, and is one of the main attractions of the city. In the past this venue was known as America West Arena, but one thing is for sure; no matter what you call this multipurpose sports and entertainment complex it is one of the best in the country. Not only does it play host to hundreds of sporting events each year, but many shows and concerts also stop by this venue on a regular basis.
There are four primary tenants that are currently using the US Airways Center as its home court. They include the Phoenix Suns of the NBA, the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, the Phoenix Roadrunners of the ECHL, and the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL. With so many primary tenants the US Airways Center is always crowded no matter what time of the year it may be.
Since opening in June of 1992 the US Airways Center has hosted many great events. In 1993, three NBA Finals games were played at this arena between the Phoenix Suns and the Chicago Bulls. The NBA All Star Game was also played here in 1995.
As far as concerts are concerned, many top performers have rocked this venue. Just a few of the names include Britney Spears, The Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys, REO Speedwagon, Gwen Stefani, and Blink 182.
As you can imagine, the US Airways Center is hosting an event more times than not. And not only is this arena hosting, but it is doing a great job along the way.
